| You can break almost anything with a high-revving dropped clutch launch. You'd be surprised how much farther you can go on stock parts with an auto. Not to mention that you will go quicker. I have come to detest manual transmission drag racing simply because it is so hard on stuff and therefore so expensive. Some may argue that it is more fun, but I have come to the conclusion that most folks quickly forget that when they realize that they are able to go a full second quicker with the auto. Funny how people act that way, hmm? :) In the end, most just want the better timeslip.
